Community guidelines
Respect people’s time.
Askr works because experienced people trust that what reaches them is worth their attention, and because people asking trust that answers are honest. These guidelines protect both.
When you ask
- Be specific. Share your situation and one clear question.
- Ask for advice, not a job. Referrals and introductions are an advisor’s choice to offer.
- Don’t send the same request to lots of people at once, or chase for a reply.
- Rate answers honestly. Critical feedback goes privately to the advisor so they can improve.
When you answer
- Answer from your own experience, and say when you’re not sure.
- Be direct and kind. People are often nervous about asking.
- If a request isn’t for you, mark it “Not my area”. It won’t count against you.
- Don’t use answers to sell products, courses or services, except paid sessions offered through Askr.
Never acceptable
- Harassment, discrimination, threats or sexual content.
- Asking for money, passwords, bank details or personal documents.
- Fake profiles, made-up experience, or impersonating someone else.
- Spam, scams, or recruiting for unrelated schemes.
- Sharing someone’s private messages or personal information without permission.
If something goes wrong
Use “Report or block” on a profile or a request. Blocking stops you contacting each other immediately and returns any credits. The Askr team reviews every report, and we may suspend accounts that break these guidelines.
