Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Askr (“Askr”, “we”). By creating an account you agree to them, to our Community guidelines, and to how we handle information as described in our Privacy policy.

Who can use Askr

You must be 16 or over and use your real name and accurate details. One account per person. You’re responsible for activity on your account and for keeping access to your email secure.

What Askr is, and isn’t

Askr connects people looking for career advice with experienced professionals who choose to answer. Answers are personal opinions shared in good faith. They are not professional, legal, financial or employment advice, and no one on Askr promises a job, interview or referral. Use your own judgement.

Your content

You own what you write. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it in order to run Askr, including showing helpful reviews on advisor profiles and helpful community answers in the Answers library. You can delete your account at any time, which removes your content.

Credits and plans

Request credits have no cash value, can’t be transferred or sold, and may expire if your account is closed. Credits never give anyone priority in an inbox or exceed an advisor’s limits. If paid plans or sessions are offered, their prices and terms will be shown before you pay, and your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Advisors

Advisors choose whether to answer and set their own availability. Verification badges show only what Askr has checked. If you offer paid sessions, you are responsible for delivering them as described and for any tax on what you earn.

What you agree not to do

Don’t harass, mislead or spam anyone; don’t impersonate others or misrepresent your experience; don’t sell, recruit for unrelated schemes or collect people’s personal information; don’t try to get around limits, scrape Askr, or interfere with how it works. See the Community guidelines for more.

Suspension and closure

We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. You can close your account at any time from your Profile page.

Liability

We provide Askr “as is”. We aren’t responsible for advice given by members or for decisions you make based on it. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to £100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will tell you on Askr before important changes take effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: hello@askr.uk.
